Insane and Inspiring

I am fascinated looking at this guy.  No doubt they have named him Insane Muscle Guy.  Can you ever imagine doing these workouts?  The exercise where he holds a tree trunk and lifts his body up is just awesome and unbelievable.  No more words to speak.  Enjoy the video and do train like a champ.  Namaste.

Wall Squat

Hey guys, You know who  the champ is in the video?  HA!  He is the man behind rebuilding the website.  Yes it is Ashwin for you.  I was punishing him with a finisher on his leg day.   Nothing much to speak about the workout.  It is plain pain which does the talking.  Enjoy the video.  Namaste.

The Gripper

Guys, in this video you will see my Brother, Chaitra, battling with a gripper.  I have named it gripper as that was the name I could come up with this new piece of equipment.  You should ask my gym members as to how it feels to work out on it?  It kills you.  I mean the crazy pump you get in your forearm is phenomenal.  Enjoy the video.  Namaste.

Another Inspiring Video and that Age is Just a Number

Do you believe that the man in the video is 67 years young.  Most of us cannot perform some of the routines which he performs.  What is more important is that his routine in the video is very simple.  He is not using any fancy equipment, but hard work and consistency seems to be his principles.  You can see in the background which looks like  his personal gym that there are no “state of the art” equipment.  What I meant to say is that we can get lost with the countless information we have been fed from various sources, but basic equipment like dumbell, barbell, and more importantly our bodyweight is what is important for an intense workout.  Enjoy the video, and don’t feel ashamed after watching the video.

Safety Squat Bar

Hey guys, this is a video of a safety squat bar done on a box.  I picked the design of the bar after doing lot of research on the Internet:  I read articles and watched videos of the safety squat bar.   I felt it necessary to introduce the bar at Iron cult, as I found it  to be really beneficial.  In this video, you will see one of our gym member performing a few reps on this bar.  The execution is perfect, as you can see in the video.  He is sitting back and not down, which is of out most importance while box squatting.  Members in the gym are still getting used to squat in this bar.  They will master it very soon.  Watch the video.  Namaste.

Terry Fox

How about this story to inspire us all?  Terry Fox was diagnosed with bone cancer in his right knee resulting in amputating his right leg.  Then starts the marathon of hope.  I know that it is  almost a 9 minute video, and we all will be impatient and perhaps even not watch it.  Anyway, I request you to watch the video.  I felt  that the words engraved on his grave is worth mentioning here:  “Somewhere the hurting must stop”.   I honestly feel, people who live for a cause are the most worthy, and they are the ones who really deserve to live.

Tyre Flipping

Hey guys, in this video you will see me performing the tyre flip, sledge dragging, and the prowler.  I know that the tyre is not  as heavy as strongman competitors use for their flip.  But the tyre we use becomes quite challenging after few flips.  The second in the circuit is sledge dragging  which is another great functional exercise for your grip strength, back, legs, and importantly the core musculature.  The last exercise of my circuit is the prowler.  Man, this is a monster.   Your legs and shoulders, I mean your entire body is challenged in an unique way when you push the prowler.  We are not able to use any weights, as we push it on mud.  It is usually pushed on concrete surface which allows for some resistance.  Anyway, what is important is that the prowler push on mud also challenges  you intensely.  Enjoy the video.

Tug of War

Hey there, as the title, Tug of War, suggests this sport is played here on every Friday.  Though the sport looks very funny it can also drain you to the core.  The competition becomes increasingly interesting when the teams are equally divided.  You can checkout what I am saying.  Moreover, it is a very good workout for your grip strength, back, and core muscles.  Very functional indeed.  Enjoy the video.

Strongman Equipment

Hi all, I am very glad to tell you that our website has been overhauled and made more user friendly.   As my first entry to my blog, I will like to showcase some of the videos we shot in our gym and in a nearby stadium, which we frequent on every friday.  In the videos you will see our men working out on various equipment which also include strongman equipment.  Last but not the least, I will like to thank all my gym members for the constant support.  In particular, Ashwin is of great help in helping to rebuild the website.  I will also like to thank Naveen Gudar, Niranjan, and Sudhindra for all the support.   Below are two videos: conan wheel and a weighted trolley.   The Conan wheel is another crazy strongman equipment which needs lot of strength and stability to carry.  It works your whole body like you would have never imagined.  The trolley is an effective equipment which needs lot of stabilization to move the weight.  It works your core and trapezius very well.  Enjoy the videos.

We will come with more videos very soon.
