An Healthy Lifestyle Change

All my life I have been a great learner and a terrific student.  I am proud of that quality, as I always feel humbled when I stumble upon a new idea.  I feel humbled, for the new concept enriches me to perform better at my job but more importantly it loudly says how little I know.

I have learnt a great deal from correspondence with peers and coaches and internet to upgrade my knowledge.  However, books have taken the center stage in my life.  I can boldly say that I am what I am because of my books.  The influence of books on me is tremendous.   I again stumbled upon a new idea when I read this book, which I am going to share.

The book is titled Strong Curves:  A Woman’s Guide To Building A Better Butt And Body.  It is written Bret Contreras and Kellie Davis.  Yes, as the title suggests the book is primarily about building an attractive butt for women.  However, the authors also suggest several lifestyle changing ideas that can be borrowed from the book.

Here the author Bret shares his views about healthy eating habits.  It’s a noteworthy change that you can practice at home.  I will share the text verbatim, for I didn’t find anything to either contradict or to add anything to the passage.

The excerpt

”One of the best things you can do for your children is invite them to the grocery store to help out.  Give them the shopping list, and let them make some of the big decisions when buying groceries.  Also involve them in meal preparation, especially when making lunch for school.  The more involved your family becomes with your fit lifestyle, the more support you will receive from them.”

Isn’t it a great idea?   My daughter accompanies me whenever I visit the organic store.  However, from now, I am going to make it sure that she will involve herself in buying the vegetables and fruits.  I can thereby try to explain her about why and how I make healthy choices.
